Realme 11 Pro+ review: Premium-Classy Looking Budget Smartphone
Review:
The Realme 11 Pro flaunts a beautiful and premium finish, a curved AMOLED display, and a Dimensity 7050 processor — all of which are an upgrade.
The smartphone has a Rs 23,999 price tag for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Find out in our review.
Design and display:
Realme brings its excellent design choices from last year to the Realme 11 Pro+, giving the device a premium look that surpasses its weight class. The thing I like the most is its leatherette-back finish which not only adds more elegance but also provides a layer of protection against accidental drops and smudges. The colour variant I have is called Sunrise Baige and it looks exactly like it sounds with the golden trims and off-white skin. At the top is a gigantic camera ring, not unlike last year’s Xiaomi 12S Ultra, that houses three sensors and a flash module. Just looking at this humungous unit of a camera module gives you the impression that a single omnipresent eye is staring back at you. It can be disconcerting, to say the least, but the look gels well with the smartphone’s standout design.
The phone feels quite light in the hand at 184g and its slimness is matched only by its predecessor. Apart from that you get the usual assortment, including a stereo speaker setup, a USB Type-C port, and a dual-SIM slot, while the volume rocker and power button are to the side. Realme has indeed done a fantastic job to woo its target audience, with the 11 Pro+ resembling more of an art piece than a smartphone.
Cameras:
- 200MP main camera with Omnivision sensor, f/1.75 aperture, OIS, 23mm(wide), 1/1.4", PDAF
- 8MP (ultra wide), f/2.2, 16mm, 112˚
- 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture
- 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.45 aperture
- Video : 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/480fps, 720p@960fps, gyro-EIS
- The main camera supports 200MP high-res mode that captures more details at the expense of dynamic range. The camera also supports auto-zoom technology integrated into the camera app’s Street mode. However, I find it gimmicky as it requires a couple of extra steps to activate. Moreover, the same level of zoom and performance can be conveniently achieved with the 2x option in the main camera mode, known as Photos.
- The portrait mode on the smartphone does a decent job of cropping out the subject from the background and adding a bokeh that looks natural and pleasing to the eye. The 32MP front camera on the Realme 11 Pro+ captures acceptable selfies with nice details and skin tones when the sun is out. There is a bit of over sharpening though, and in lowlight conditions, the camera yields average results.
- And the video quality, auto focus are very good and ois works really well. Overall, video quality is very good you are not disappointed with the camera of Realme 11 pro+.
Performance and software:
- The Dimensity 7050 chipset features two high-performance 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 cores and six power-efficient 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores.
- It also includes a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, supports LPDDR5/4x memory and UFS 3.1/2.1 storage standards, and can handle up to 200MP camera sensors with 4K video recording at 30FPS.
- The smartphone exhibits no noticeable frame drops or significant heating issues, even when playing graphically demanding games like BGMI with HD graphics and medium frame rate.
- MediaTek Dimensity 7050 has been tested at 2066 / 934 points on Geek bench benchmark. That puts it ahead of its competitors, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+, which received a score around 2926 / 878 points in this test.
- The Antutu benchmark score of MediaTek Dimensity 7050 is around 534867. Its rank and results are higher than its competitors, for example the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, which received 518799 marks in this test.
This smartphone features a massive battery of 5000 mAh which ensures that you have enough power to get on with the day. You can enjoy up to 29.09 hours of call time, 404.88 hours of standby time, 23.36 hours of music time, 18.86 hours of video time, and 8.29 hours of game time. Equipped with a 100 W SUPERVOOC charger, this phone charges your phone in about 26 minutes.
Final verdict:
